The logic board in my Ipad 1 needed replacing. The local Apple store didn't want to repair, just upgrade.
Replaced it myself with a used one I found online.
Itunes will not activate. "Ipad not recognized...contact local Apple store."
Circumstantial evidence points to the serial number residing on replacement board which is in Apple's data base.
I've contacted the seller who is trying to id the donor Ipad in hopes of having it "unregistered."
Question: Apple has software to reset the serial number but that is not a current option; Is there another way to reset the serial number (best scenario would be to restore my unit's serial number to facilitate restoration of back-up) or circumvent this road block?
