Turning Off iOS 8 reminders.

I'm not quite ready to upgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 8 on my ipad. Can anybody tell me how to turn off the very irritating reminder I get every time I switch on?

Afaik it's not possible to disable these on a stock iPad.
