I tried out the AV connection. UTube plays from the iPad on the TV. Nothing else connects.

I checked the iPad manual and it seems that I will have to use the USB sync cable to see photos etc on the TV. I'm told that what I see on the iPad is mirrored on the TV.
Then there's something about video out functions etc to work with. It's very much trial and error at present. :)

I have to say (and this probably isn't much help to you) that Apple TV, IMHO, is the way to go, I have two of them and they are just so intuitive and play really nicely with my TV and my iPads, iPhones, etc.

Now, to go truly wireless I need an inductive house!!!

I would like to get an Apple TV, Gabe, but I my other half doesn't want more stuff "cluttering up" the place!

An Apple TV is inexpensive, compared with buying a couple of connection cables.

So, I'm trying to find a way of installing an Apple TV in a cabinet near our main TV and using a long cable to connect TV and Apple TV! :(

The Apple TV is tiny so you could sneak one in without your significant other ever noticing! As its wifi connected you could hide it easily behind the TV, I've even thought about mounting one of mine on the back of the TV.

I'm persevering with AV cable, as I want to test it out.

I can play photo slide shows, with music if required, videos I have made and programmes on BBC iPlayer and ITV Player. I'm about to watch Downton Abbey this way :)

I hope my thread called "The Animal Lovers Thread" gets new posts soon. I want to have a thread like "What is it?" This thread "What are you guys doing right now?" And all the other popular threads. It makes me happy that I'm appreciated here. :) and since theres lots of animal lovers here, I decided to open "The Animal Lovers Thread." I was lucky that it wasn't a duplicate and I could continue to use it. I've had a few posts so far, but not many. The "Animal Lovers Thread" is for people all around Ipad forums who love animals, you can post pictures, and talk about your favorite animals of all kinds! Domesticated animals, wild animals, exotic animals, whatever kind of animals you want! I want people to enjoy my threads! :) I'm the kind of person who loves to entertain and fascinate people. And I couldn't resist opening "The Animal Lovers Thread" because I love animals so much, and would do anything in the world for them. Feel free to check it out if you want! :)

Some threads take off and just run and run. Others die without a trace. You just never know whether they will grab attention. Maybe if you get an idea, write it down so you remember next time you get the chance to post it.

Don't forget you can use your signature lines (up to 5) to advertise internal links.

I've started 21 threads and only 4 of them received more than a hundred posts. Several received no responses at all. It's a crapshoot whether or not a thread you start turns out to be very popular. The most popular thread on these forums was started by a member who only made two posts, then disappeared. It's the Dragonvale thread with almost 40,000 posts.

In my case because my Internet service provider gave me a weak wifi router I cannot get the true mirror from the apple tv. I can watch the bbc i player or YouTube from my phone to the tv via apple tv but true mirroring it crashes. I took the whole lot to the apple store genius bar and it was obvious my 1 antenna net gear router is the culprit. Either I can get a better router or get an apple express wifi router for £70

On another note, bought the mac book pro today from the auction for £850, it was my 2nd choice after the iMac which has run out. No more windows for me. Having problem connecting to wifi for some reason, also anyone know how I can transfer my iTunes account from the windoze laptop? Think it's the last generation one

I'd try to make your provider work for you.
The least they can do for your valued business.

Sometimes suggesting you'll go elsewhere for service can motivate them. It's a competitive space and no one likes losing customers = revenue.

And one of the most popular threads doesn't even exist any more, although most of the participants are still around.

That's another thing. People come and go. There is a hard core who seem to have been around for ever, and post regularly. The key would seem to be finding stuff that the regulars are interested in.
