So what happens between MobileMe and iCloud?

Following yesterday's announcement I received an email today confirming that MobileMe will run to the end of June then the service will stop. As iCloud isn't due until later in the year does anyone know what happens in the interim period......I.e. Will iDisk, etc just die?

So 2 days before the cloud announcement I cancelled my mobile me trial..was on the fence...so now to get the sync functionality back I have to wait until fall ? Talk about poor timing ..any ideas on substitutes..mainly for contacts and notes. Dropbox?
