Saved bookmarks not appearing under bookmarks!

What causes this? I use the share icon, select “Add bookmark” but when I check the bookmark list to the left, my just-saved bookmark isn’t there!

extremely puzzling..does anyone have an idea why this happens?

Look at the bottom of your Favorites folder, which should be the first category in Bookmarks. When you save a bookmark, you can specify a different folder, or create a new folder for it.
