This problem is not specific to Safari. This an iOS issue. It only occurs when wifi is enabled & connected. I have had numerous applications exit abruptly. Switching routers is ineffective. Powering down is ineffective but can, on occasion, increase the time before failure. This is simply a bug which Apple is neither willing nor able to correct.
