R.I.P. Davy Jones

Listening to the band now. Another hard blow to the baby boomers.

They really did have some great songs, irregardless of where those songs came from. Besides, it's not like much of the current pop music isn't fabricated either. I mean...seriously.....:)

Oh yes of course they are, just mentioned it as back then bands wernt manufactured, they were put together for the tv show The Monkees and went on to be highly sucsessful.

Guess I'm showing my age. I watched the "Monkees" on TV as a teenager. Of course I said it wasn't really me but my little brother. I still sing that "hey hey we're the Monkees" allay when I hear it.

RIP Davy Jones.

Gosh we were only talking about him recently. I didn't know any girl who wasn't in love with him and I will always remember him with a smile. :). Rest Well!

Although I was literally just born when The Monkees came about, 10 years later as a kid, they were my obsession, and I saw them twice in the 90's for the reunion tours when I was already an adult. I'll always have a soft spot for them. I'm sorry to hear of this. I actually somewhere around my house have one of their original albums that an older neighbor from my childhood neighbor gave to me out of niceness. I could sing the lyrics to most of their songs still. Too sad.

Summer holidays as a kid I used to get up and watch their TV shows in the mornings......how time flies!
