AppleInsider writes today that according to Chinese blog, M.I.C. Gadget, thousands of people all looking for work are lining up outside Foxconn’s Chengdu plant in China, as the company looks to hire a new army of workers to cope with the summer increase in production for both the next iPhone and the iPad mini. Apparently the job description that has led so many would-be employees to queue up has just one criteria, that the worker has good eyesight. M.I.C. Gadget’s sources say that many of the open positions have already been filled very quickly once advertised, but there are still a few openings left. AppleInsider says that it’s possible that production on the iPad mini has already started at Chengdu, which would seem to contradict earlier reports that Apple was planning to build the iPad mini in Foxconn’s new plant in Juniai, Brazil.
