Professional mic for ipad

Does anyone know which pro microphone (will pick up conversation in a meeting) works best on the ipad and a program like Dragon? All the pro mics I've seen online are for iPod.

Thanks!

I have found that Smart Recorder, found in the app store, works good using only the built in microphone on the IPad. It won't work with any text programs like Dragon, but it makes a great recording of even a roomful of people. I haven't used it for note taking yet but I know you can tag areas of the recording for locating them later.

Best Mic for iPad

The Samson Meteor Mic is the best choice. It is a large diaphragm condenser mic with a wide frequency response that connects directly to the USB camera connector and has a built in desktop stand. It was less than $100 at Sam Ash Direct and I think its is also at Apple stores.

Does someone know if the Samson meteor mic is compatible with the iPad 4, using the USB camera connection kit?

Well I finally got the samson meteor mic and the apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. I tried them on my new ipad 4 and they worked! Here are some pics

This is my setup.
Nothing fancy, but it works for me. Doing my podcast right now and I can say that the quality is amazing for a $99 mic (CD quality actually). So in conclusion, the meteor mic works with the new ipad 4 using the lighting port to usb adapter. No "this device uses too much energy" error or anything, so be at peace.

Gain control not available on the mic itself.
Something I missed was the gain control on the mic itself, there is none yet the gain control is on the app itself, I'm using garageband for the ipad. Not a deal breaker but something to consider.

In the end, the mic does a wonderful job recording voice for podcast and deserves a place among podcaster gear on the go.
