Hi, Jimmy! Welcome to iPF!

First try the usual fixes:
Restart: turn off your ipad, wait for a few minutes and turn it on again.
Reset: press and hold Home and Power button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then release both and let the iPad power up on it's own.

I'm not familiar with screen repairs, but maybe this will help: somewhere I read that this can happen when there's a bad solder joint on the home flex. If this is the case, the Power button won't work, and the screen won't be locked by a smart case.
Hope that helps.

Hi Jimmy and welcome to the Forum!

Did you replace your screen yourself? The only way we can really help is with the info that JA has already given you. I've heard of this and other problems occurring from members trying to fix their iPads themselves, something else is damaged in the process also.
We always recommend making an appointment with Apple, they normally offer to replace your iPad but for a cost which is normally half of what you would have paid for it.
You could always try them now and see what they say to you.....it may be worth a try.

I will transfer your thread to our Help Forum in the hope that someone here may know more about your problem. Good luck!
