By "cookie thing", do you mean the Bonio tin? If so, it's certainly real! I have promised to try and find out if they are still around to buy, but suspect they were a one-off production for a special occasion. I will report back with anything concrete if I can find it.

Don't need to be sorry, to me, though I was fooled at first, I think it's an awesome thing and would love one myself, I'm trying to find one in the UK.

A Morkie is a dog, they call them designer dogs, he is just a dog to me. He is a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkie. I had a little Morkie called Mouse for 3 months and she disappeared, just gone. I was so heart broken then my husband talked me into getting Louie. He is a bit bigger than Mouse was. Mouse's best friend was my husbands 175 lb Rotwieller mix named Buff what a team one bite and Mouse could be swallowed by him, 3lbs. He was depressed when she disappeared also, he is not so crazy about Louie. I still miss her.
Yes a lot of animal lovers here, everywhere really. My pets can really cheer me up, but no more dogs or cats for us, I put my foot down.

This is bald Louie, he usually has long silver/gold fur. But I asked my hubby to cut his hair, now he has to sleep under the covers...

Oh, that cookie! He calls it his "piece of cake," because he thinks it sounds romantic & piratical ("pieces of eight..."!). No, that's plastic too. Or whatever. Wouldn't be tempted to snack myself

The Louie photo is great. He has a lovely little face. I've never heard of a Morkie before.
That's a sad story about Mouse. Think we're mostly soft-centered types here & get upset by animals dying, or going missing...that's worse in many ways.

Whenever we have one that dies or has to be put to sleep (we've had lots), experience says to allow a good week or 10 days at least for the first, really hard stage to go by, letting the crying come when it needs to, being kind to yourself. What helps us is if we are able to be there at the end. And then to bury them ourselves, close by, with care, giving them whatever it is that they would have liked as a treat to help say goodbye.

Another thing we've discovered is that the other animals get depressed too. Sometimes dreadfully so. We had an English Setter who just stopped eating or doing anything for over three weeks after our Irish Setter died of leukaemia. We actually had to go & get a rescue Dalmatian to help her recover her spirits.

At the very least, the "pack" dynamic changes & that is hard for some dogs to deal with.
Now, we always make sure that all the other animals have a chance to take in what's happened...let them go near and examine their pal and be around while the burying goes on.

This may all sound morbid & silly, perhaps even a bit pagan to others but that doesn't matter, does it?

My yorkie actually acted embarrassed when I shaved her one summer. Anyway, Louie is very cute. That's awful about your other dog though. I would have been heartsick too. I'm so sorry that you had to go through that

To cheer us up, here's Bracken cleaning up a yogurt pot. We were watching his tongue through the bottom, making a very good job of a tall pot!

He is very wet & scruffy after a nice little runaround in the rain.

Springers have always appealed to me too. They have such eager enthusiasm. And flyaway flappy ears!

LOL Not the point, it's MY bed not theirs and they know they are not allowed to play on beds but my fault for not shutting the door properly. Had to strip the bed completely and remake or I would have been breaking in dog hairs ........

LOL no "sweet" wasn't the first thought to come to mind but they are my babies.

Both come from the same rescue home, the big one was a street dog and so have to ensure the bin is always where he cannot get to it or he will tip it over to scavenge.

We are the third home for the little one, the previous owner to us lasted 6 weeks with him before sending him back to the rescue coz he was so naughty - he has been with us a year now and has learned all his commands and if you have a tennis ball he will do absolutely anything for you.

Big dog adores his little bruv even to the point of letting him share his dinner
