I have created some pdf files with pdffactory and the italicized words all show up in bold type on my iPad2. They are not in bold type when looked at with Adobe Acrobat or Nitro Reader on my PC. Is this to be expected? How can I change that?

Try a different font.

If the iPad does not support the font you used in PDFFactory then it will substitute what it thinks is the closest match. If for some reason that font does not support italics, or there is a mismatch, it might cause this.

Thats my best guess, and that's all I can do since I don't' have the program to play with.

Here is a list of fonts included in iOS 5.
