Official iPad2 Jailbreak Thread

It took about three minutes with an iPad that had just been erased, before I erased it, the process ran for about 12-15 minutes and then failed. I think that the more you have on your iPad, the longer it will take to run.

tht is exactly whats happening with me on my ipad2!!

its still on >> creating backup....

btw itunes took 40 min to restore after i upgraded to 5.0.1 but their was no music or my purchased apps on da ipad!?

FINALLY, my iPad 2 is jailbroken!!

What I did;
- Installed latest iTunes version
- Made a backup of my iPad 2
- Followed instruction on how to jailbreak
- Restored from backup in iTunes

How can i jailbreak ? Help !

all done here has well. Just follow the instruction on the dev-team blog comments and u should be fine. remember to backup before JB.

guys i followed all da steps for CLI version ...

after this command cinject.exe -w, cmd executes a series of commands and after tht error commands start to appear, which are infinite.

looks like its not gona work 4 me! btw do we need an active internet connection 4 dis?

First download the iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 firmware.
Make a backup of your iPad 2 in iTunes.
Put the iPad 2 in DFU mode, restore the iPad. And DO NOT restore from backup, make it a CLEAN iPad.
Now follow the instructions on jailbreaking in cmd.
!!If you do not know how to use cmd, it is better to wait for the easier Windows version to be released!!
When your iPad is jailbroken, make the restore in iTunes to get your stuff back!

During that command, start up the VPN.
I don't know if you need an active internet connection.... But I guess so.

OK GOT IT!!! JAILBROKEN...in 5 minutes!!

For all people...its very simple :

Usage:
1. open CMD.exe
2. cd to the cinject.exe
3. execute the command: cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig
4. execute the command: cinject.exe -j payloads
5. execute the command: cinject.exe -w
6. toggle the VPN switch in settings
7. Wait for reboot

Looks like it's hit or miss. I can't get it to work, but other can. Good for you guys. I have the same issue as IPADfreak90 but not sure what the fix was for them.

disconnected my internet connection this time.., altho this might be irrelevant.

Step 1: it works provided u follow the instructions.......

Step 2: Go to Start menu and click on Run
Step 3: Type CMD.exe
Step 4: Type without quotes: “cd cinject_0.4.3″
Step 5: Execute command: “cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig” [Execute command means write in CMD.exe what's written inside quotes, without quote signs]
Step 6: Approve Install request on your device. Next > Next > Finish, no need to enter password
Step 7: Execute command: “cinject.exe -j payloads” Wait for backup
Step 8: Execute command: “cinject.exe -w”
Step 9: Run Absinthe app from device Home screen. If you get error establishing database connection error then launch Settings.app on your device and turn on VPN settings

U dont need to use “cinject.exe -w” and i didnt get any absinthe app...i got the CYDIA APP directly!
