New iPad 2 owner with "missing" app questions...

I was aware that the iPhone Weather and Stock Ticker apps along with a Clock and Calculator app were omitted - can't imagine why the iOS for the devices would be different in the Apple confines but it is what it is.

Anyway, I really want to get a Stock "Ticker" app, Just like iPhone, that shows real time action on the "Notification" area. The same is true of a Weather app, live status in the Notification area.

I have some clock and calc apps but would like to hear the "best in show" others might suggest.

And of course FREE is best!

The stock and weather apps with widgets in notification center do not exist; unless you jailbreak. You'll have to search the Hacking section to get details. Check out the highlighted treads at the beginning of the section for the whats and hows of jailbreaking.

I don't have a clock app. The few times I've needed to set up alerts on the iPad I've just used Calendar. (I use my iPhone for clock/alarms)

I like PCalc Light. I like it enough that upgrading to the Pro version is on my list of things to do. Not because I need the extra features, but because they are worth supporting.
