To welcome all who used the iPad users in the UK section. I'm not certain what we can and can't post here, but it looks as if it's for iPad issues specifically for UK users? I'm sure Col or Tim will clarify in due course!

Thanks for the information. It will be useful for UK specific issues I think :)

As far as I am aware, this sub-forum is designed specifically for iPad issues - so no 'Off Topic' chit-chat - and for topics that are specific to the UK and therefore would be of no interest to other Members - for example, issues surrounding UK data carriers - O2, Vodafone, 3e, etc - specific UK regulatory issues, UK Apple Stores, repairs in the UK for iPads, UK-only apps - iPlayer, Sky News, 4oD etc.

General iPad material - still post that in the regular section. Chit-chat and other similar material in the 'Off Topic' section.

The idea was to avoid cluttering up the main section of iPad Forum with regional specific material that may be of no interest to anyone not living in the UK.

Of course, it also is a great place for people who are planning to visit the UK to come and seek UK advice and perhaps to more easily locate answers to their region-specific questions.

The other regional forums will have the same format, except that the posters will be able to post in their native language and not be forced to speak English - which may put a lot of posters off from contributing.

Moderating the non-English Forums will be done by volunteers, who Colin has been seeking, as you will have seen, but anyone who speaks that particular language is, of course, encouraged to report any posts that they feel contravene the Forum rules - which have been translated into the appropriate language and posted in the sub Forum.

I'm sure if I've missed anything out - or put too much in - Colin will put me right.

But, to recap, this sub Forum is for UK-specific, iPad-related material.

Tim

I appreciate your support. The rules are the same for UK just added to keep or countries uniform ok . The purpose as Tim said is to provide a forum area that you can discuss ipad issues and problems in your region. I can add additional sections if required so just ask. I am unsure for example what Telecoms you use in UK. This may be a specific Thread.

Any questions or recommendations please forward to Tim or myself at least until we get this settled down Been a long day. Tomorrow I am adding Greece, Dutch, Chinese.

I need translators for the rules for German, Italian and Sweden and takers ??

Jeff, do I recall from an earlier post that you speak Italian?

Or is it just a sign of me getting old and loosing my RAM....

Tim

Speak it yes, reasonably fluent. Write it sadly no, my spelling and punctuation just wouldn't be up to the job I'm afraid. I did consider putting myself forward, but it's got to be written correctly, so decided wouldn't be much use to you. I learned my Italian and Spanish verbally, in situ so to speak. I can understand what people are posting if I study the threads long enough, but by then the question would have been answered many times over!

If I can help in any other way, you know where I am :)

The guys at the Apple Store in Bluewater, Kent are great. Replaced my iPad 2 for minor cosmetic damage. A big hand for them.

The Manager did not need to be involved. The tech guys are empowered to make decisions. Good business strategy.
