Wil I be able to get a brand new one? I just swapped my first one out yesterday will they give me a new one

Yes they should replace it with another new one, I wouldn't accept anything else, other than a full refund, it's not your fault, it's theirs if they cannot supply one that is acceptable to you. You have 2 weeks from purchase to get a refund if your not 100% happy... (at least that's what the store staff told me) so are you 100% happy ? If you do take it back... might be an idea to get them to try it before leaving, you can usually see any light bleed if you look closely on the black bootup screen. What brought your attention to it in the first place ? had you seen someone mention it on here so you went and checked yours ? never accept 2nd best purely because your've already returned one, easy to say I know. It's quite possible you may not notice it in normal use, but only you can decide. Best of luck.

I agree with still29.. only just seen the pic you posted.. missed it for some reason.. that's not minor leakage on your new iPad 3 it's major light leakage and should never have slipped through, that is really bad, and will probably show in many dark film scenes. Hope your new one is okay.

Thanks! I hope so too!

You could also take a photo with your finger covering the camera lens. This should give a screen black enough to check for screen bleeding.

is there any classifictaion made by Apple that only a Major Backlighting Leakage qualifies for an 100% replacement and if it is like a very minor it does not ?

People on Apple Insider are saying that it is almost impossoble to get a Zero Backlight Leakage screen. There will always be some amount of Bleeding in all the screens no matter whatever you do ? Now, I dont know who to believe ? :p

I think their assessment is a true one, especially if the light bleed is only visible when the brightness is higher than your normal level, and you can only see it in a dark room. IOW you gave to go looking for it. IMO , if you cannot see it at the normal brightness level in normal viewing conditions, then it's not really a issue is it?

If I turn the brighness up on my ipad 3 in a blackened room I can see a touch of minor bleed in 3 places along one side when viewed on black screen.

However, I'm unlikely ever going to be watching anything with the brightness set up that high, secondly, am I going to be viewing my iPad in a blacked out room... I think not!, I've checked on dark films and black area's at normal viewing conditions, and it's fine.. no probs at all.
For curiousity I did check my iPad-1 for light bleed yesterday and was very surprised indeed to find it had worse light bleed than my new one does..lol, and yet even though I've had it for 18mths I never noticed anything amiss. IOW dont look for problems you cannot see, and in some cases did'nt even know what they were until you read it on here..lol

Conclusion.
IMO, if you have to up the brightness and view it in a darkened room to make the backlight bleed visible then it's just not worth worrying about, as it will be fine under normal conditions, but if it really is noticable at all under normal viewing on dark area's then definately get it changed, I just got mine changed because it had a spec of dust under the screen, which was visible on white or light grey screens, it was visible in normal use so it was change.
Ironically my 1st one had no light bleed at all.. but is it worth changing again for something I don't even see under normal use.. nah.. i don't think so.

TBH I doubt there is such a thing as a 100% perfect iPad3 or a perfect anything for that matter... except my wife..lol (in case she read this..lol)

If I were you I would contact Apple (either in store or through the website) and get it replaced. Mine doesn't look like that and it definitely looks like a defect.

Do you have any or are you showing some OCD on this issue?

Does anyone know if this worsens overtime or does it remain the same?
