Hi,

I have a 64 gig iPad 2 and the Mrs has a 64 gig iPad 3.

Both get backed up to iCloud, however with all the photo's etc we have the 5 gig is not enough to back up.

I have a 3TB Nas, is there anyway I can get the backup to backup to the Nas, rather than iCloud. My Nas has at least 1.5 TB of space sat there....

Thanks
Bob

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions but I'll surely nose around a bit and see if I can come up with anything. You may want to delete this thread and put it in the general section or even help section where more people will see it.

Depends on your computer(s) OS, but there are ways to point the directory iTunes backups are stored to a location a NAS. It's an advanced configuration, and you can easily break things if you're not careful though.

Do I have to have a computer on for that? We rarely turn it on now as we just use the iPads. They, as do the iPhones, back up to iCloud every night, but one of the iPads doesn't anymore, as there is too much data. Can I change the automatic back up location to my NAS from the iOad?

Yeah, it would have to be done from the computer. There isn't a way to change the backup location from the device itself, besides disabling the iCloud backup.
