I got a slim case from CaseWise(TM). Really like it. Very high quality and it comes with both from and back cover. The back cover is a slim hard cover which snaps on to my iPad. Since it is snap-on, it is not very visible on the front. It also does this sleep/wake-up trick as the Apple's smart cover. Their website is called casewisestore.com.

While the cut out looks like it might not allow enough room for the entire grill, under closer examination one sees the width of the case more than compensates for the speaker. The Ipad's back curves at an inward angle right there so there is no obstruction to the grill at all. The cut out is perfectly matched to the ipads speaker grill and lines up beautifully! Could not hear any difference in sound quality at all!

Y'all should look into the saddle back leather case if ur going for looks. I think it's the best looking case I have seen with quality work.

Starting a thread to get an idea of what third party cases are out there. Please tell me what kind of case you got, why you got it and if you could please post a link to the website. I am looking for a case that acts like a smart cover and protects the back with multiple angles of viewing. I am looking at the targus 360 degree case but I'm not too keen on the looks so some other options would be great. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the Smart Cover Set from ESR-case. I brought one, and it works very well. You just have to pay $35.99, and get a smart cover, a TPU case, and a clear screen protectore. The set is thin, ans slim fit for the ipad 2, it will not add any bulky, and affect the aesthetic of ipad 2.

I wouldn't call it spam but self-promotion. I went to the site and it made sense, actually nice looking pouches, need a larger selection of colors, though. Perhaps cranberry red?

Just got my iPad2 and the cover I bought was the
Skinny Smart cover that sleeps.

I'm happy with it, and it should be good for travel
in carry on airport luggage.

I use the Otterbox Defender case

When I bought my iPad I quickly realized that I would need something to secure it in. I went on Youtube and searched for iPad case reviews and came across this video of a guy intentionally dropping his iPad from a standing height ( he said he was 6 feet tall) to the ground which was a concrete surface multiple times.
After he completed this demonstration the iPad was fine but there were a few cosmetic blemishes to the card case ( as one would imagine)
I was amazed by the video and went out and bought the case for my iPad and for my Iphone 4.
I bought mine through amazon.com which doesn't offer a free screen protector. But I later learned that if you buy it direct from Otterbox they are offering a free screen protector.
