Ipad 1 shutting down

For the past few days I have noticed that suddenly for no reason, I can be in the middle of doing something, i.e usually, checking something online and my iPad returns to my home screen. Could this be anything to do with security?

The thread is about Safari, but RAM crashes can affect all apps, depending on what you've got open, etc.

I have done all the suggestions in that thread - the problem still exists. Is it possible to go retro re: Operating System? I will spend some time in iTunes to see id that is possible.

Safari has a program bug, we need an update with a fix.
