I'm in awe of the aircraft but know next to nothing about them.

When I was 18 I tried to join the Air Force, but I had chronic bronchitis as a child and they gave me a 4F classification. That was before 'Nam, so perhaps it was for the best.

I Might not be talking to you now if you hadn't been classified as 4F.

Teotihuacan near Mexico City. We figured out the public transportation with the help of dictionaries (this was before smart phones) and got there and back with our limited Spanish.

I really like Mexico.

Hi Bob - my first visit (among a half dozen) to Mexico was back in the early '70s' - we started in Cozumel, then went to Merida to visit several of the Mayan ruins on the Yucatan peninsula, i.e. Uxmal & Chichten Itza (map below) - saved some scanned in slides of the ruins below w/ my new bride of about 18 months (we'll be celebrating our 45th anniversary this July - YIPES!) - then onto Mexico City which included a visit to Teotihuacan - one last pic of the Pyramid of the Sun to show its massive size! This city predated the Aztec civilization by over a thousand years - AND so much not known (see the partial quote below from Wiki) - Dave :)

The city is thought to have been established around 100 BC, with major monuments continuously under construction until about AD 250. The city may have lasted until sometime between the 7th and 8th centuries AD, but its major monuments were sacked and systematically burned around 550 AD. At its zenith, perhaps in the first half of the 1st millennium AD, Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, with a population estimated at 125,000 or more, making it at minimum the sixth largest city in the world during its epoch.

I visited those same ruins. Did you get ti uxmal? I could retire in Merida if they has better water. Another nice place in Mexico is Oaxaca. I've been to Mexico a half dozen times. Other than the border towns, I like Mexico very much. Nice people live there.

Thanks for the pictures, they brought back memories.

Hi Bob - the Mayan ruins are from various sites - believe the first 2 images are Uxmal/Kabah - not sure where the building is at w/ my wife - and the next 3 pics are at Chichen Itza (see diagram for the names of these buildings, i.e. Temple of Warriors, El Castillo, & the Observatory) - last of course, the Pyramid of the Sun. Dave :)
