Nice work J.A. - there is going to be a new section just for professional photographers! You'll love that and be able to contribute too!

This is the not edited version of today's sunset about an hour ago:

Wow, I just learned something - the picture was originally wide screen and much higher resolution, it is adjusted when uploaded. :o
If you go into the settings section of the app, accessible from the more button at the bottom right of the screen, you can select forum posting options, then select attachment type and quality. This may help with the loss of resolution in your photos.

Thanks!!

Here is a picture to test, this is Mono Lake. Usually you see the lake and mars looking objects, here is one on the walk down to the lake (again before the unfortunate demise of my camera)

I tried at 1280 JPG, but get a parse error. I'll try PNG then retry attaching.

Another parse error...

Ok, on iPad have to send at low resolution JPEG, here is the much anticipated Mono Lake approach :)

I have my posting options set to high resolution JPG and have no problems. image-2773148771.webp . image-2266975286.webp It holds up well when enlarged.

1024 works for me, but 1280 fails every time. Disappointing.

My wife took this today with her iPad mini (cropped and color corrected for indoor light):

I'm holding an Egyptian Fruitbat. Dang, he's cute! Softest fur I've ever felt. He was very docile and relaxed.

We went to a Batfest at the same state park where I band hummingbirds, and this little guy was part of the show-and-tell session. Later, we helped trap some wild bats as they left a cave, as part of a survey. (Our local bats are much, much smaller than the one in the photo, only about 4 grams in weight and 8 cm long.)

Too bad bats make terrible (and illegal) pets. I wanted to take this dude home with me!

I was trying to explain to a friend the other day the usefulness of the " touch to focus " function, after a little explanation I presented them the two following photos, both taken exactly the same time ( well ok a second or two apart ) , but shows the touch to focus working in two different ways to show how handy it is .

Ones focusing on the horizon, the other on the foreground .

I like the darker one :-)

Is this on your iPad? If so, what generation? I have an iPad 2 but I have never heard of touch to focus! I'm so jealous of those who have newer better toys than me, and then I remember how lucky I am to have THIS IPAD! It has opened up the whole world to me! Great people, wonderful friendships and so much more! So, shame on me for even thinking I want more, and good for me to catch it so quickly and remembering how LUCKY I am! :) ;)
I like the darker one better as well!

If I recall , I think I took them on my iphone , which at the time would have been the iphone 5. I have used touch to focus on my ipad quite often too, I have the 3rd gen ipad .
