I suppose putting in words such as "squat" and "snot" is spell check's revenge. :D

It looks like a crayon or something like that.

Yep. A purple crayon laying in the middle of a parking lot. Just an odd little detail that makes you wonder what it's story is. I'm easily amused.

Plus I liked the contrast and the shadows. I'd have taken the time to get a few different shots, maybe better, but the dog does not find the middle of parking lots interesting. Juggling an iPhone and an impatient dog requires more dexterity than I posses.

Hey TP - maybe you need to train your dog to help out? Dave :D

LOL. My dog won't even fetch. You could get her all worked up waving a stick or frisbee in front of her, but when you threw it she ran off in a a random direction, did several figure eights, came back and looked at you as if to say "Aren't I just awesome fast?"

Now that she is older she prefers to take her time and smell every single bush, flower, and tall clump of grass, and her look says "stop rushing me you idiot".

Well, my wife has turned 68 y/o in January and I'll be the same age in mid-April, so the above sounds familiar to us!

She no longer 'fetches' for me and I tend to sniff a lot of flowers when visiting various gardens - :D Dave

Slowing down quite a bit myself, though I've got a few years to go before 68.

It's not that I don't want to take my time and smell/look at the roses. It's just that we disagree on the particular times and roses.

A male Great Tit was chirping in my walnut tree a few minutes ago. Long enough so that I could take a few pictures. The second one is cropped.

This is only cropped. A few twigs of my tree are visible as "shadow".
The same, without house and twigs:
