I like your new avatar. It seems to be a painting.

It is. It is a Caravaggio, Card Sharps. I used to see it when I lived in Fort Worth, it is one of the Kimble's permanent pieces - I used to go every week to the museum. The building competed with the works inside to see which was more captivating.

I've seen that painting a number of times - located at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. - called not surprisingly 'Two Women at a Window' by the Baroque Spanish artist, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, mainly a painter of religious subjects as I recall - Dave

In, I think it was 2002, they had a Murillo exhibit at the Kimble. I saw the two women painting about 8 feet away from and facing this one




It was like they were looking out towards each other cross the street. It was an amazing collection from museums around the world.

Hi Z... - don't want to type out that long login name - but would have loved to see that exhibit - I've been to TX a half dozen (or more) times, mainly San Antonio - but not to Ft. Worth. When I was an undergrad at the University of Michigan, I took several art history courses (some of my favorites) - that was back in the 1960s - WOW! BUT, since then I've had the opportunity to visit dozens of museums in the USA & in Europe to appreciate amazing collections of art - and have seen plenty of 'traveling' exhibits, especially in my local state - SO would have enjoyed that experience! Thanks for sharing - Dave
