How to scroll down in a bulletin board post?

Has anyone figured out a quick/easy way (with the iPad, that is) to scroll down in the entry field of a bulletin board post (like what I'm typing this into right now)? If you quote someone's post, for instance, and it's rather long, how do you get to the bottom of it? I've noticed you can hold your finger in until the little magnifying glass comes up, then sloooooooowly drag down through the quoted post/information, but haven't found any other way to accomplish that. There's no 'down arrow' as it were. And the typical click/drag scrolling mechanism that works so well in other windows does nothing at all for entry fields.

Any pointers?

Have you tried the two finger scroll?
Put your index finger and middlefinger close togheter and drag up or down!
