I don't mind if people open boats for crops. It's easy xp for me.

It's very annoying, I don't even fill my own sugar boats I just send them on their way now, much less fill others. I will help my friends who need help with captain but other than that I need my sugars to make my own products. If I do ask for help with a boat I don't expect people to actually use their hard work to finish my boat unless they want to.

I tend to only full others boats when I have surplus of that product or I don't need that product anymore.

Me too. I feel like the captain challenge is kind of a joke now anyways that anyone can fill a boat. Not really a "challenge" at all anymore...

I think if they weren't interested in having the boats filled, they'd just ship them off. And anymore, no one wants to fill sugar boats, not even for the xps. It's just way too hard to keep up with production alone, let alone dumping dozens in a boat.

Just an interesting observation:

This is not even about farmers here, just something I've really noticed while playing over the weekend. When I browse through the paper, I often look around the farms which have the advertisements placed to look for trees that need reviving, see if there's a toolbox, or to check to see if they need boat help. What I've noticed is that an overwhelming majority of people fill their boats themselves except for ANY of the sugar and dairy boxes, especially sugar. Like they don't even fill one themselves. Now, you can't tell me that people with giant barns at high levels don't have nine sugars lying around their barn. They want other people to use their own hard earned sugar to fill up the boxes. They just don't want to use their own. I just don't understand this mentality. If you wouldn't "waste" your own precious sugar on your own boat, why do SO MANY players expect others to?

Like I said, this is not about people here, just strangers farms from the newspaper.

Since they are strangers to me, it doesn't bother me as much as when my friends (in real life) ask me to fill their boat with sugar and high end products just because they don't have the machines yet. I do have extra stuffs lying around but my game play is you do as much as you can, then you ask for help just occasionally. I can't just keep filling their boats just because my level is higher or I have bigger barn. I earned most by myself and I always try to give back to the others who helped me so I don't like it when they keep asking me to help them, and I already help them with materials by stalking newspaper and sell/trade to them by default price or 1 coin only. And it drives me nuts when I told them they could cast off a boat but they still kept those sugar/dairy boat and constantly asked me to help, sigh.

I've noticed that too! I don't fill sugars or creams on principles so I just ignore them. Sometimes I don't even fill other crates (non sugar, non cream) since I see it as a waste if they can't complete boat.

Agree.., I filled many boats of lower level followers... But brown sugar and white sugar is crazy, and cream, no way 8 or 11 cream x3 crates!

I must say the only one I can't ill is the coffee, since I don't have the money to buy the machine.or jewelry machine,

Not for nothing, I do look for stuff in the newspaper that are cheap and use them on people's boat,like bacon etc, and comeback to their boat and fill it for them, I might loose 100-200 coins but I be get to fill the other and get xp points out of it and the satisfaction of helping...


As I start my farming day, I clear my machines look for what I need re fill the machines, stock the bins for sale, and then go through the paper, then go through my followers and see what they have or need. Then go through my friend list and see their goodies and or if they need help with boat, note the people and what they need, match the orders in papers / silo/barn and come back and finish my farm,before signing off..

That's true. It should be that you have to fill it yourself. I remember the struggle of having to fill them no matter what they came up with. I did have help from here on certain things and people rushed around helping others doing the captain achievement. Even if they had to buy them from others to help, they would be filling their own boats.

Not to be rude or disrespectful, but do you actually fill your own crates? I have noticed that you are happy to come on here asking for people to fill your crates but you offer no thanks to anyone and do not engage in any form of conversation. Most people on here talk to each other and help each other out, if you can't even say thank you to people less and less are likely to help you. Just some friendly advice, that's all

I dont think they have many friends, judging from how and when their crates get filled.

@jon: I dont browse through my friend's farms too often, but I like to help, so I like it when someone is asking through the forum for help on specific items.

I find more people that dont fill anything at all. Some of my followers have crates open asking for carrots or even wheat. Thought some of them might be bots instead of real people.

Lol, cut them off! Worked for me My sister plays a bit, I helped her with a bunch of boats for captain. Her first boat after getting it asked for cream and she asked me to help her. I told her heck no and told her to send away dairy and sugar boats.
