Harddisk iPad full with "other" data?

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and searched for an answer to my question, but didn't find it. Therefor I decided to make a new thread. I hope you guys (and girls?) can help me out. But first of all, I want to complement you all with this forum, it looks great!

My question:
I used to have like 3 movies (approx. 5 GB) on my iPad 2, 16 Gb. A couple of days ago, I wanted to delete these movies and place some new ones on the iPad. But when I removed the old movies and the iPad started synchronising, it turned out that I had 9,2 GB of "other" data. I tried a lot of things to find out what this "other" data was, but I couldn't find the answer. I removed some apps that I allowed to store data (newspapers etc), but that didn't help. Even when I removed two games of 500 MB, and succesfully placed a new movie on the iPad, when I removed that 1 GB movie, suddenly 700mb was added to the "other" data, so I had only 300 MB free. As you can see in the screenshot, i now have 9,2 GB of "other" data, and I really don't know what this data is, or is being used for. I am starting to get crazy here, so does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks a million in advance.

I'm not sure if this is the best advice but this has happened to me and the only thing that worked was resetting the iPad and starting again fresh. The other is indicating that the files have corrupted at some point. I hope this is your last resort but I'm sure someone will have better advice. Good luck.
P.s. my iPad worked much better after this drastic action and the 'other' became normal again.
