Discussions on this topic appear to deteriorate into arguments about wether or not flash is a good thing, or "if you don't like it as it is - don't buy an iPad". As I see it, the issue is not about that. The question is, as was touched earlier in this thread: Is an iPad a computer?
If an iPad is not a generic computer, the argument not to buy is valid. However, if the iPad is considered to be a generic computer, people expect to be able to do whatever they want with it, not just what the manufacturer thinks they want to do. This is, of course, not limited to flash support, but applies to all the tweaks and apps that Apple won't allow. Some really clever people refused to put up with this and invented the jailbreak.
I have a question for you who don't want flash support, or even wish to allow others to want flash support: What do you think about jail-breaking in general? Do you think the same? As in "if it isn't available in Apple app store - don't buy an iDevice"?
Free your devices - use them for what you want, not what someone tells you that you want!
