First Apple device, playing with ipad 2, Hi there :-)

Hello all, have for quite some time nosed through this forum as a guest for info on my learning curve, only just registered tho, firstly thank you all for the very informative info I have found on her in the past, never bothered to look any where else as feel the experts are here, thanks again you have helped me as a novice user many a time.

I have always been an android and windows person (please don't spit at me)
I purchased the ipad 2 for my 14yr old son back in August 2011 only for the reason of being special needs and the apps that really do help, he loved it and it went everywhere with us his PSP, Nintendo DS, portable DVD player, wii, xbox and other stuff pretty much gathered dust.
He passed away on New Year's Day 2012 and we could not possibly sell any of his expensive stuff everything is in his bedroom, I was looking at buying an android tablet but thought I'd give this ago and pleasantly surprised, tho I find some restrictions annoying, 1 being the big old boring flash debate that I found a pretty easy work around. Next I'm waiting on the jailbreak for the iOS 6 as not knowing I stupidly updated not saving these shush blob thingys lol, I promise I won't ask the proverbial questions you mods pull your hair out with.
Anyhow nice to be here an look forward to getting to know you while I play get to know and destroy this ipad

I am so sorry to hear that you lost your son, please accept my condolences. Welcome to the forum. Glad to know that you have been learning lots while lurking . There lots of very experienced people here that have taught me so much since I joined so you are in good company.

Haha, I prefer to lurk and search than try all your patience with numerous duplicate questions lol. Tho I may do the same at some point..... Been exploring the ipad for a couple of months now and looking forward to getting into the workings of it.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend.
