Hi, welcome to iPF!
Delete the email account and install it again. This usually fixes most email issues.
If this doesn't help, please provide more information: which account (Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, ...), built in Mail app or a different one, which software (latest software is iOS 7.1.2), jailbroken or not, any observations or popups.
