I've been in the market for a MACbook pro. I found an out-of-this-world deal for a two month old MacBook for $600.00! Which is over $1100.00 savings. So I emailed the seller. She replied informing me that she was out if town, she received it as a give, an just wanted to get ride of it. . She sent me another picture. And the suggested we use a "Sales broker" who would ship the pc and then once I approve of the product, they would give her the money. This would protect both of us. Sounds good, safe and the company "Interparcel" is a company on the web.

Then I found that it is a scam which many people get taken by. Per the website http://www.jurinnov.com/craigslist-scams
I found the exact same reply verbiage I received from my seller. Even the photos and story line were the same!

I contacted the real Inter-parcel company and forwarded all the email exchanges. I hope they track down this scammer.

I know this is not a IPad issue but I wanted to share how I almost got scammed so you won't. By the way I hope no one takes this idea as a career path. The thing you do will come back to you.

What sounds too good to be true usually is.

I wonder about those Craigslist ads sometimes. Somebody locally is selling a brand new 64gb 4g Retina iPad for $520. I'm afraid to even call cuz I don't want to get mugged. That's because I read a story last year about a college kid who was robbed at gun point when he met up with someone selling a Macbook Pro. They were even meeting at a public place.

I've heard that as many as 1/3 of Craigslist ads are bogus. Too many dishonest people these days.

Thanks for posting, while I have managed to successfully buy and sell stuff on Kijiji, it is always worth a reminder that vigilance is the price of doing business on the Internet.
It's a shame that these people can't apply such creative thinking to something more mundane, you know, like an actual job.

This scam is well known on eBay as well. There is no computer, only a scammer out to steal your money. This is a variation of the classic Kubota tractor scam.

If I had a brand new iPad like that I would sell it to a vender on amazon. I bet I could get that much or more. Scam.

I've know some pretty bad criminals in my day. I would always tell them "if you applied all those thoughts to a design or a business you would be a millionaire" They would always say "this is easier"

Meet at a local police precinct.
