Alright, I have 2 breeding caves and I have kept both constantly busy breeding lichen/crystal or crystal/lichen since the emerald was available, still no emerald. I am not frustrated. I am not upset. I am not developing a permanent twitch in my left eye. I am happy, I tell you. Happy. hahahahahahahaha......what did you say? Men in white coats at my front door? Oh, no, wait.............time, just give me time, I can do it.

So if in fact it is true and the gem dragons cannot be bred, what is the benefit of having more than one? Should I keep trying for a second Emerald?

The immediate benefit is that you can earn more gems while you wait for the rest of the gem dragons to be released. The island appears to be designed to hold 12 dragons, 1 for each month. But over that 12 month span each additional dragon will earn you an extra gem a week while trying to catch the newest ones, at which point you can simply store the multiple ones when your island is full.

I opened dragonvale and a message came up that said dragons like the pearl and emerald give gems instead of cash or something like that so
Does anybody know how to get a pearl dragon yet?

Pearl is the birthstone of June (as Emerald is for may), i guess we have to wait another week till it arrives...

I just bred a brass and a cactus and got a 20 hour dragon, but can't find anything that has 20 hours. Any ideas what it might be?

Colouring would suggest lightning and fire (in that order) but nope never seen that one!

It seems all I had to do was moan enough times that I'd never get one and tonight I get the magic 31 hour notification. Hurrah!!

I think it's firefly? The design of the egg has been changed - just checked it on wiki.

I got 31 hours breeding time with Crystal and Swamp combo, I'm sure it is Emerald.
Anyone who fails with Crystal and Lichen multiple times should try this combo.
