OMG!! Got a sun. Hurried my 48 hour and it turned out to be the one I was hoping for. Now I'm trying for a iceberg. Annoying because ice and iceberg are both 8 hour dragons and no way to tell. I looked at the incubation time of the sun and I saw, 16 gems to hurry, I had 17. I looked at it for a minute then thought, oh go on!

Now I think I have missed something? A bridge? Would be nice though, if we could put a bridge between some islands that are connected, and the wisards could just walk the path over!

No, you misunderstand, there was supposed to be some real bridge that connected somehow to the new years dragon, dont know if i am remembering wrong?

Hi Becky! I'm so glad you finally joined us! :thumbs: You sound like a perfect fit! Congrats on your successes and no worries on the bone dragon (I think) You sound as addicted as the rest of us and hopefully it will make another appearance later this year. I only got one because I didn't think it would be gone that fast so I worked on other things. Lesson learned. Lol. My bubbling fart island....haha. That was a start on the air/water gold shrines until they released panlong of course. Anything to throw a wrench in my plan. I always make the wrong decision early which is why I have no plan at the moment but the 6th island. Hehe. Anyways I'm glad you are a addict like the rest of us and hope you stay and chat! What is your GC ID?

Thank you for the lovely welcome! It is nice to feel "normal" about breeding digital dragons. (Or perhaps to still feel crazy about it in such wonderful company! ) I can relate to the wrench in your plans thing. My islands are perpetually in transition here lately it seems.

I don't know with the Love w/Cold combo provides so many of the difficult rares. I still think Frost and Sandies are still somewhat difficult to get.

Over the last couple of days this is my experience after a lot of breeding at grandson Jack's park, from easiest to most difficult:

(1) Suns
Suns have been so easy to get that they have become a 48/48 nuisance. I recall others experiencing this. Jack didn't have any when he started and he now has four.

(2) Frostfires
A number of these have shown up. Jack didn't have any of these when he started and he now has six.

(3) Bluefires
Also many of these. We have not done any straight across Frostfires/Frostfire or Bluefire/Bluefire breeding as we quickly had a pair of each. But we have the six Frostfires and three Bluefires, kind of a mini Chinese Gold Coin Factory except I guess this would have to be called an Artic Gold Coin Factory.

(4) Rainbows
Started with one, now has three.

(5) Sandstorms
Jack didn't have any when we started and he still doesn't.

(6) Panlongs
Same as Sandies - he didn't have one and we haven't seen hide nor hair of one.

All breeding was done using 250strong's Breeding Guide - Thank you! We've used only the most recommended pairs.

It's really fun to go back and build a park with the knowledge behind you instead in front of you. I enjoy it both ways, but you can really rip when you make any mis-steps. Plus the changes made since I went through the stages Jack is at have really streamlined things: the Hibernation Cave; the Fountain of Youth (for those us who like babies and; when we get ready to go for silver shrines, the multiple element dragons.

One lesson I've learned, that I'm sure not to apply, is that it pays to wait as Backflip makes your life easier with updates. When I first did the silver shrines it felt like the gold shrines do now. The developers are evil geniuses.

I've never seen a hatchery like my grandson Jack, the Junior Master - GCID: queenvictoria5

Today we bred:

1 Moon (first one)
3 Rainbows
4 Suns (first ones)
4 Frostfires (first ones)
3 Bluefires (first ones)

...out of probably 60 tries. It was so hot I didn't want to stop. When the Moon filled up the hatchery I figured it was time to call it a day. I really think Backflip has opened up the valves. It was like a hot streak at the craps tables. You can't walk away.

A big thank you to 250strong for the Breeding Guide. - we followed that exclusively. It's amazing what a good grasp Jack has of this game at age six. Must fun I've had in DV for a long time.

All that cost me about forty bucks - can't even go out to dinner for that.
