Gahh, bought gems yesterday to get the gemtree, and what was it worth? I've waited 36 h to be able to give my usual 3...... Still it says 0 gifts to give. So sorry to you who are expecting some gems from me!

Hmmm, well that sucks.
Seems weird considering many people, myself included, reported getting 6 gems come up earlier than they were expected. If you gave 3 gems over 24 hours ago AND you got the gem tree more than 24 hours ago them definitely contact Backflip as soon as possible. Especially considering you bought the gems, they should look into ASAP for you.

Yeh, me too! I'm not sure how many I have on my list but a lot of them go to the same people too...some almost daily or every other day.

My list isn't too terrible at the moment - I have 14 people with a couple of people that I owe 2 gems to. Have 110 gems now but trying to hold out until I have around 150 before I purchase the gem tree so at least I have some backups. This could all change if I start feeling too bad about people having to wait too long to get their gem back. Don't worry everyone, you are on the list! (except for those poor people I missed with a reload who didn't get back to me )

I've never really been a game person.....that was until I got my iPad and Dragonvale! Cannot believe how addictive it is. If only work would stop interfering with my playing!

Me neither, I just thought the dragon looked cute when I went to the app store and the rest is history. And it's not just work interfering with Dragonvale - why do we have to sleep!

If you gave 3 gems over 24 hours ago AND you got the gem tree more than 24 hours ago them definitely contact Backflip as soon as possible. You are writing like crazy while I'm asleep! Some reflection: what will cost 100 000 000?

I've stopped saving money for another island, will buy food instead. It's a bit annoying that my level 15 I had before the update doesn't count towards the gold shrines, no way I will sell them to get up to 15 again.

Gahhh, it's cold, no gloves when I use the phone (waiting for my train). Have to stop now, to get warm.

Thanks will give it a shot. The only reason i have emoticons on at the moment is because I am using the website as opposed to the Ipad app for the forum and this way it looks like i am working while at work heheheh

Lucky for you that you can access the forum at work. Our evil office only allows you 2 x 15 minutes 'quotas' for accessing this site. I've got to try and get everything done super quick (which of course constantly gets interrupted) before time runs out. Using the iPhone makes additions to the forum very time consuming

hehe, I have played other games on a very small scale before but NEVER anything like this. Closest was probably Neopets but that had guilds and various other ways to interact with people and wasn't 'just a game' in the same way.
I have to admit I've been slightly frustrated that ever since my son has slept through the last few nights I've started getting those horrible "and others gave you gems" messages. ALMOST made me wish he'd wake me in the middle of the night again...almost

Hey friends, just wanted to share this..
How i started playing DV is.. One fine day, the DV came as an adv. when i was playing some other backflip game and as the dragon icon looked cute, i downloaded it.. But didn't care to notice it more than a couple of weeks.. On one nice Sunday, my sister's son started playing it and i was watching, within a few minutes i had to grab my iphone out of his hands as i instantly got addicted.. Good that his father had both an iphone and an ipad2.. He installed immediately in the ipad2 and started playing..
This is a great game, believe me guys.. I inspite being an IT consultant (Single Male) still remember the days when i used to keep alarms in the nights just to collect DV coins and have a look at my dragons..
I am planning to get married in a couple of months and i am wondering whether my girl would allow me to play DV.. I somehow have to make her addictive as well and my problem would be solved.. My MISSION IMPOSSIBLE and i choose to accept it..

I haven't sent you one recently but I had one outstanding from a very long time ago when I only had a couple of friends that I figured might have got lost (on MY part, NOT on yours) so it's not a bother. I've been wanting to share with you and some of my other originals again, but I always seem to owe more gems than I can hand out these days so there are no longer spares left over. Hopefully when I get my gem tree that will sort itself out

I think you may just be in luck there - seems the only 'problem' people on the forum are the male partners of us addicted women.* I'm quite sure that your girl will be wonderfully understanding and patient and allow you to wake up every 2 hours if need be (yeah right) ... yes, you must get her addicted to ensure the*future safety and wellbeing of your dragons!

Hmm, maybe it's waiting till the gem tree is ready in that case? Not sure. I had sent my 3 gems just before I bought the gem tree so I'm not sure how it handles the difference in gem gifting time/availability. I still got my 6 gems earlier than I expected. Again, if it does go past 24 hours waiting for the gem tree then remember to contact Backflip immediately!

You mean my previous post mentioning 100mill? If so, I was referring to the 6th island! Yes, 100million Scary stuff.

I'm just generally saving money now. Will undoubtedly want the 6th island but doubt I'll be anywhere close to the level needed to get it for a LONG time (the XP is takig FOREVER at these higher levels) so I probably have plenty of time to save up. Im not really interested in doing the shrines (for various reasons) but will probably get them all to at least silver (only Earth and Water left) even if I don't really level up many of my dragons past 10.
I mentioned earlier today - I hope I don't regret it, like if they make a new dragon that's only available when all your shrines are complete or something *eek*.

It's really hot here today, haha. So weird with all the different nationalities and timezones in here.

Oh yes I agree, sleep also interferes with DV but it does give those longer breeds a chance to get on with it in the cave while we sleep. I don't know about any others here but I am always watching them no master how long it takes to breed and incubate....always watching them.
