Hi Jo, in response to your question I've not found gold crowns to be of any advantage yet. Having said that, I've not had 2 level 20 dragons that have been required for the winning combo, I have had only 1 each time. Here is my tip, say for instance you need the next gem stone dragon for May. If a likely outcome is another rare dragon, I probably would not level up the winning combo needed. Just my thoughts.
As to spending gems, I would probably go with the statues rather than speeding up breeds.

Just by the way, I love the new storage tower. I have 2 more Olympus habitats in there, and a fire that I've just brought back out and swapped for an Olympus. I'm breeding my 2 coral to get my display egg. I've decided to purchase a new large lightning habitat tomorrow and then store it too just in case I need it. Being able to store habitats is a huge advantage. It's been months since I sold off my lightning, plant and fire habitats for higher earners. It is sad to have so many dragons in the hibernation tower that are not out frolicking in their habitats. Sure wish backflip would lift the cap on them so the are worthwhile to have on display!

I just bought a large plant habitat for 2 gems and I stored it. Now I'm waiting for my new large lightning habitat to build. With 16 hours or 16 gems to speed up, I can wait. Once it's built, I will store it, and then bring out one of my Olympus habitats in its place. Better to have it in my storage tower because if a new dragon came out that needed a lightning dragon I'd be able to release it - if I didn't do this now I wouldn't have the habitat and I'd be spending 16 gems to build it immediately when needed....good to plan ahead.
I want to buy higher cap on hibernation! And I LOVE your idea of building habs, stow, have them waiting for when and if we need one! We won't have to wait, nor pay to speed build! Nice idea!! Thanks for sharing! I have a new large moon building, but after hat is done........plant and cold! For some dumb reason, I didn't get rid of lightning nor fire?!?!

Not sure what combos you are using, but the breeding sandbox suggests these combos - we all use this as a guide. The gold Olympus is very difficult. Good luck, and may the wizard be with you, with magic wand in hand.

Finally got Diamond. Weird, I'm trying since the first day it came out and I've always tryed Ice + Mine with no luck at all. Today, I tryed to switch them (Mine + Ice) and voila, there it is.
That's great news. Some players find that in the last few days they get the gemstone dragon they are trying to breed. I don't think it should be that hard to breed, especially when you have been trying since day one. A player can become really despondent when they need to wait that long. Hope that backflip can rectify this. Just really glad for now that you have been successful after all this time, and congrats for not giving up.

Just google dragonvale breeding sandbox. It gives you the opportunity to pair dragons. When you put two dragons in, it will give you all the possible outcomes for the pair you put in. It also lists the current winning combos for new dragons, including old ones. Play with it and try a few different dragons. When a new dragon comes into the market, it's the first place many of the players on the forum check out.
If you can't find the right web site, just check again at the top of the first pictures listed when I responded to your question. I'm sure you will have no problems finding it.

I am trying to breed my pwn quest: 'everything two'; I put in air + mud hoping for 2nd sandstorm;
But it gave me a 24hr timer (19hr10min after -20%)..
There is nothing 24hr incubation time from this combo according to sandbox... a glitch?
Edit: ok, seem like it is going to be a terradiem, but I tot it is already expired?!

Yep, thats exactly what you have. Although its not meant to be in the market, one of our forum members bred one yesterday.
