Hate to say the last bit isn't true....
I have air x quake in the breeding cave now with 7hrs breeding time....

Yep, air and quake will do it. You will get heaps of fail breedings. I got my gold Olympus less than 24 hours ago with this combo. However, I had over 20 fail breeds, and I used this combo in both breeding caves at the same time. I didn't switch the combo at any time. I just kept putting them straight back in. Hang in there as you will get it.

I finally got my Opal breeding in the EBI. After countless tries since the 1st of October, simultaneously breeding in both the upgraded cave & island, she finally came through. I'll estimate around 60-70 tries, 3 in each cave daily. I did speed up a few here & there with gems. I have 93 visitors (but I also believe, the amount of visitors does not matter). I have to give kudos to Gina Brown, as I took her approach and upgraded both my Lava dragon and Mud dragon to lvl. 15, then bred them to get the Opal. Again, it doesn't matter what level your dragons are on, you just have to keeping breeding away. I just needed to try something different and wanted to share my tough breeding adventure in acquiring my Opal dragon with you all!

Good luck to those who still have not acquired her yet, don't give up, your Opal will come.

Somehow I think the amount of visitors does make a difference but I think it's the change if amount that counts, not the amount itself. For

example 1: you have 20 visitors and you build, redecorate, feed the dragons etc and then your 20 visitors get higher to 25 = then your luck is better.

Example 2: you have a solid 77 visitors and doesn't do anything: less luck than in example 1.

By the way, I really hope there will be another dragon than the bone, we old timers will have a boring year ahead of us otherwise..

Woot woot, spent 15 gems to speed up the breeding, and the wizard has granted my wish, a gold Olympus it is! Now back to working on the next gold crown - about 2 weeks from now I should have gold crown #2 - yay! .... O, and it looks beautiful!

Awesome work Di, really happy for you. I'm finding it a challenge just getting my Papers to lvl 15 never mind 20 n still trying for my bronze but will likely take a break n breed Irons for coins. Don't want to tie up my caves with long haulers when we normally get a new dragon on Fridays.

Finally, think I have a Opal Dragon breeding. Decided to use level 15 mud n lava n Bingo 1st try. So excited since it is my birthstone.

I Will try quake an air next... Patience, I know, but its boring, I have an army of bronze in the cave, sold of some before the upgraded cave, and 5 silver, but no gold... But, as Brooklyn says, breed on!

What combo were you using Snalfa I need a bronze, two actually!

Number one I would be SHOCKED if - IF Bone came back - PRETTY PLEASE -- it will cost 25 gems NOW. too many jailbreaks, too many peeps with too much money. Bet a minimum of 500 could even be 1000.

An rd I have an iPod touch 4th gen: any reason NOT to apply latest Dragonvale update? Anyone have any problems with it?>

At the moment, I have some breathing room so I want to take a minute to thank this forum. I started reading this forum maybe twice a day (sometimes more) last October. We've lost some great friends that don't post anymore but gained other great ones along the way. Everyone has been friendly and truly try to help the other players and the tone of the thread has always remained kind. I have a breeding pair and a display egg of each and every dragon and I only have them because of the help I've received on this forum.

For you new people, I can tell you that no question is a dumb question on this forum. No one will make fun of you, all will welcome you, and everyone will cheer you on!

OMG I am sooooooo happy to give out my gems again! Thank you backflip for fixing the crash issue! I now get to do my favorite thing... Give gems to my DV buddies and my forum friends. . I have a huge smile on my face right now!

If i can turn back time, i would not update my DV to version 1.10., since that update i can't visits friend's park and keep crashing on friends list. The 1.10 update is just for upgrade hibernation cave to 200 capacity and view GC profile pic of your friends, if you don't need that don't update yet to be sure.

If you are already using 1.10, i think updating it to 1.10.1 will not make any difference since it is only a bug fix for 2nd gen iPod and those who are still using ios4.1.1, So you can update it if you want.

I am seeing lots of luck with getting those gold Olympus dragons! It seems impossible to get the two I'm after, Malachite and Dodo.. Hmm maybe I should go for the Olympus instead since I still need a gold....

If i can turn back time, i would not update my DV to version 1.10., since that update i can't visits friend's park and keep crashing on friends list. After reading about the problems with the version 1.10.1Patch I decided not to update my current version. But just now when I checked my version was already updated to 1.10.1.. I might have unwittingly pushed the wrong button when those annoying pop up update notices appeared. But fortunately everything seems to be in order. I can give out gems and visit other player's parks without any problem. I hope Backflip Studios are following up on this forum and fixing any bugs here so everyone can have an enjoyable game experience. Cheers!
