I'm happy to have my second leap year egg in the hatchery. These fella's sell for 2,5 million a pop, could these be a great substitute for air/sandstorm breeding? 14h30 mins is pretty acceptable if you don't have the time to keep breeding airs

I had the same thought and did the math:

Goldie: $2,500,000 gold coins / 29 hours = $86,207 gold coins/hour gross production
Air or Sandy: $500,000 / 4hours = $125,000

But you have expenses - you lose the Goldie production for 29 hours which is <$696,000>, which reduces your net yield to $1,804,00, which equals $62,206/hour.

With level 15 Air pairs you only lose <$14,160> in production, which gives you a net of $121,460/hour. And Sandies produce at a lower rate than Airs, so you lose less with them.

Bottom line is that the ol' Airs & Sandies are still your best bet for generating gold coins.

Now if I could only get a pair of Sandies in Jack's park. They're just about the most difficult to get. I got them pretty much by accident in my park.

Or you might consider the 8/8 Snow which sells for $1,000,000:

$1,000,000 coins / 16 hours = $62,000 coins/hour gross

Lost production is $38,400 which gives a net of $60,100 coins/hour. This is just a bit under the Goldie production. And you retain more flexibility in case you know who throws us a curveball.

Hello DV family,

So Leap year dragon will be leaving after 1st of March 2012?

What an exciting 2 days have been.. I got my first Leap Year dragon which is now in the hatchery.. And today I got another Leap Year Dragon in the EBI. And because I did not wanna leave the basic cave empty, so I decided to try my luck in getting another Leap Year dragon using fog/lava.. And bammm... I got another Panlong..

I think it is still worthwhile to celebrate such rare moments when every breed leads you to a rare dragon whether we want it or not.

And for those who are still trying for the Leap Year dragon, dun give up!! If you really need to speed things up, well hope that you have enough gems to overcome it! Gambate!!

Yeah!!!! Congrats! I'm so happy for you! And I have some news myself.... I just checked on my dragons to collect coins and one breeding in my regular cave was finished so I put Love/Cold in there again because I always like the surprise that combo seems to give me... guess what???? I GOT MY SECOND LYD!!!!!!! I almost fell out of my chair because I didn't expect it to be available anymore!!!!! But sure enough, it's a 14 hour 20 min breed time! Wow!!!! OK, yeah, I'm a little excited! hee, hee!

Woohoo! 11.46pm in NSW, just got my second leap year with love and cold.Got the first with firefly and seaweed.

But I've been upset with DV for ages now... I still haven't got my second moon. It's all I want

Flower/storm, mud/storm and sonic/storm keep giving me suns. I'm so sick of seeing them.

So PLEASE tell me, if you've got a moon recently, what did you use?

I kept going with it. I bought 300 worth of gems and used 220 speeding up mostly fireflies so about 20-25 times?
Finally got it after MONTHS of trying

What levels do sonic and lava have to be to breed a leap year dragon?

Also can you breed to get a sonic dragon.

You don't have to apologize for asking questions. The people here are DV addicts and really, really nice. If you have a look under eggs. Each they have flags. This tells you what to breed. In sonics case it is air and lightening. There are a few dragons that you can't do this for Eg sandstorm, blue fire, frostfire. To get these you have to breed hybrids of that element. Hope this is helpful.

Well so far I only made it to page 1780. I have a friend in town that will be at my house anytime that I have not seen in years....we are also leaving town tomorrow for a couple days so I don't know how long it will take me to get caught up but I will at some point. Congrats to everyone that got their LYD's and good luck to those still trying! :thumbs:

Hello fellow dragonairs!!
Ive been playing for months and to no avail have every dragon except for sandstorm and the new leap year dragon.
Anyone have any suggestions for either one?? Please help!!

For sandstorm I used air and mud. And the LYD the first one was lava/fog.

I went to bed last night telling myself to be happy with one LYD and not to be greedy. got up this am and saw they are still available so had to try again. did Love and Cold got a frost fire, did it again and got my second LYD. WHOO HOOO!!!!

I have been playing DragonVale since January 1, 2012.
Finally...I have my first Gold Shrine!

It seems like it has taken forever!

Is there any hint of an update by the developers to continue the game past level 30?
