I'm wondering, would it be legal for BFS to restrict each park to just 1 LYD without telling us? Somehow I cannot believe that it is.

BFS state the Leap Year Dragon is available until March 1, not a word about "you can only breed one, a second one will have to be purchased, then you can breed all you want". It would be VERY deceptive, based on past experience in this game, if this was the case. The urgency, which we all felt from the beginning since we expected LYD to be a temporary dragon, but which was made much worse with the announcement of when the window to obtain LYD would close, lead to gem purchases which no-one would have made if BFS was upfront with us (if indeed we can only breed one).

I hope that I'm wrong about this situation, but I do feel duped into spending all my gems and buying a few more with real money...and that's not right.

IMO we anticipated LYD to be rare and difficult to get. Some used more gems than other, but if you look at the big picture, majority of us got one in less than 24 hours. It could of been much different, what if none of us have even got one at this time. Could you imagine how panicked and how much more real money we would of spent. We could be thankful BFS made it somewhat easy to get that first one. It's a personal choice. Someone said this to me once, "its better to be a follower and learn from the mistakes made by others and build from them". I am still trying, without using gems. . .the Fletch path. Man! This thread and the breeding guide just blew up today!

Anyways I just wanted to share my experience and thoughts. I really agree with 'Poppy' that backflip is going for a crazy cash grab. if only they had some stock and i had some inside info about the Leap Year Dragon lol.

So in my particular situation, I was on a quest to breed my 2nd rainbow dragon. I was popping in a bunch of the latest successful combos.
I had a 48 hour going in one cave, and the other was getting hammered with lavas and crystals.

anyways, then the leap year dragon came out and i started to dedicate the rest of my efforts to that. so I level up my love and cold to 15 just so I could have a better chance. Then I plug them into the EBI and get a 48 hr. So now I'm stuck with both caves at 48 hours and no gems to speed things up.
oh then the news comes that I have 48 hours to get the LYD. ok, so how fair is that?

I have to admit that I LOVE THIS GAME!! and that's why it hurt so bad when I felt that I was FORCED to buy some gems in order to even have a chance at the LYD. If anything, I felt that my hand was somewhat forced to purchase gems so I could continue to play and get the latest dragon. Today was my first gem purchase ever. I would have liked to do it on my own terms.

When I did eventually get the LYD, I had a feeling of relief, but NOT of accomplishment. Even ALL the rare dragons I bred while trying to get the LYD did not feel as good. It was like part of my DV passion was taken away. I pride myself on my patience, and persistence because that is a huge part of playing this game. I made it to level 30 without once buying a gem. I don't have anything against players that do buy gems. Everyone has their own way of enjoying this game.

I don't know if anyone understands what I'm thinking, but it just feels that my hand was forced and not by my own will.

I will continue to play this game, as long as this never happens again.

and as for my $9.99, I will treat it as my thank you to Backflip for all the enjoyable hours of playing.

Exactly, you had only spent $10 and how many hours of enjoyment did you get? I would say you still got the better deal. . .

I love you all but seriously u have to relax my friends, remember no one forces u to buy gems and it is of your own volition you do, so please enjoy an remember no disrespect is ever intended on my part its just an observation and I just want my friends to continue to enjoy what we have since this forum was started and that's to play and share info on DV and ourselves because we have come together as a surrogate family. Breed on!!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG. Just hurried up my cold/love combo and got a frostfire, now I got a 48hr. Come on first Rainbow, or maybe a moon. Now no more breeding for 36 hrs cause I running low on gems, and I donot spend any real money on this game. Not as fast as some, but slow and steady can still get there.

OK, I think I have decided to side with Poppy here. Getting a second LYD seems to be impossible (I'm not saying it can't happen). Those of us who are fortunate to have 2 probably got #2 during a certain time at the beginning when it was possible, or bought one. I just don't get it

So, I'm giving up. Sort of. I will definitely not spend any more gems on speeding anything up. My EBI is out of commissioning for another 44+ hours with my 3rd 48hr breeding. I'll just keep sticking Flower and Storm in the other cave until either magic happens or, more likely, time runs out. Que sera, sera.

Same here though I can't promise I won't spend anymore gems I have 30 left and am really tempted to buy 130 ,I havnt bought any yet I've managed ok with my saved gems for now but I had to buy my son 2 packs before he got his first x x x
