Contacts

I lost Some of my contacts on my contacts list, Connected my iPad to iTunes to re-sync it and those names are Still not showing up After syncing. Have the same contacts on my iPhone, Try turning off my iPad turning it back on reconnecting it & re-syncing, Nothing seems to help. All my contacts are on Google account, Guess the only thing I need to do is delete my contacts have to put him on a word document reenter them again then syncing, Unless someone has advice they can give me.
Everyone's time and effort is greatly appreciated,

I went into my settings and notice I don't have contacts options in my gmail account. Do not know why it is on my phone

Contacts disappear missing empty

Currently travelling. Contacts were present this morning. Gone this afternoon. This happened once before, but could restore them syncing with Outlook. Cannot restore at the moment because away from PC. I do not use iCloud. The only change is am now using is a Telstra Elite wireless modem (and had to add a new outgoing mail server). Would love to know if anyone has this problem, or resolved it.... Thanks

I started having the same problem at the beginning of 8/2013 with missing contacts, but I do use the iCloud for sycncing. Everything worked great for a month, and then at least 3 of my very ofter used contacts disappeared from my iPad, iPhone, iCloud, and my contact list in yahoo mail. I have a model 3 running ver. 6.1.3

Contacts are not available to import from Gmail, but you can import your contacts from Yahoo mail.

Here's the way to add your Google contacts to your iPad on your iPad:

Go to Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose "Add Account..."
Tap "Other"
Now choose "Add CardDAV Account"

Write your account information:
Server: Enter "google.com"
User Name: Write your Gmail address.
Password: Gmail password.
Description: write a description of the account (e.g. Contacts).

Tap "Next" at the top of your screen.
Make sure that the "Contacts" option is turned to ON.

This way your Gmail contacts will sync to your iPad, you don't need iTunes.

I notice that my Samsung S4 has imported all my Google contacts both MY CONTACTS and OTHER CONTACTS. The ipad on the other hand has only imported MY CONTACTS. Is it possible to get ipad to also import the other contacts?

Thanks for you input and I agree you would think that would work but it doesn't as I had done that. I still get the 104 contacts in MY CONTACTS and no more. Looking at the Account URL under Google settings on the iPad I find it is the apple.com/carddav/v1/principals/my personal information.

Perhaps the principals is limiting it but that is what it created. So I'm missing 300 other google OTHER CONTACTS.

Did you also try to set it up with Google Mail, and if you don't need the email account, only enable Contacts?

You bet, been using Gmail on PC for couple years. I have 104 MY CONTACTS and 465 OTHER CONTACTS which seem to basically be anyone i had a gmail exchange with. The 104 MY CONTACTS sync to ipad, the 465 others do not. So I can send an email to one of the others from the PC and gmail will find the email adddress but on the ipad that person is unknown.

iOS only syncs Gmail My Contacts.
