Connect to thumb drive

You need an iUSBport device!

There are some threads here about it.

Well, would be nice to have a description about what an iUSBport device may be? And, also links to the threads suggested? Just wondering - :)

Now I have only the iPad2 w/ the CCK (camera connection kit) and a USB thumb drive will not work via this connection - so I'd be quite curious if the iPad4 behaves differently, which I doubt - so any enlightening information would be of interest?

Sorry, half asleep and getting ready for work. :( I'm sure the OP can use the search function... It's in the IPad Connect section. I cannot figure out how to post links from within the app.

Here's how to copy links.

Interesting comment on the Camera Connection Kit. I assumed this would work.... Over on at AVForums an owner posted his newly purchased CCK worked just fine with his iPad 4 see here.
I have ordered one myself but am also very keen on the iUSBPort as well.

Thanks guys for the comments & links - I was aware of CloudFTP but had not kept up w/ the newest progress in the technology or the name changes - looks like a little reading will be needed! Dave :)

Hyperdrive really confused the issue with the name change and I don't think they did themselves any favours in doing so!

Exactly.... When something becomes popular, sells well and trustworthy the very last thing you should be doing is changing it's name.

I think the first name wasn't good but it got recognition, the second name isn't any better and many don't know that the iUSBport and CloudFTP are one and the same.

Well, my Camera Connection Kit CCK arrived today and I had mixed results...
It will read the contents of a cameras DCIM folder of photos and videos BUT if you add any photos to that very same list they are not seen by the iPad.
I even tried copying one of the original photos that were already on the cameras SD card then deleted this original and replaced it back with the copy I had previously made..... Guess what, it did not show.

Yep... I'm confused.

Hi Beards - well, on the first page of this thread, you commented on a post of mine concerning the CCK in which I suggested that it could not be used like a 'thumb drive' - concerning importing images via this connection and as you've discovered, the process is confusing and maybe not possible - there has been much discussion here last year, e.g. take a look HERE and check my post (#4) and the link given - you've just experienced the pain that we have all felt for a while concerning this issue - if you find an easy solution, please let us know - Dave :)
