Blank Calendar

My calendar (the original loaded on the iPad) no longer shows days, months, years or anything that I have added to it. It just shows blank white pages with a frame around it. This did not happen after a sync. It just spontaneously happened. Syncing does not restore the calendar app. and I cannot find the same app at the store. Has anyone else experienced this? What is the cure?

When things start acting a bit weird, it's a good idea to completely shut the iPad off and restart. You should probably do this at least once a week (my unsupported opinion on frequency.)

Just hold down the power button for about three seconds. You'll get a power off slider. Go ahead and slide it off. Wait until the iPad completely shuts down and then restart it by holding down the power button for about three seconds again.

For more serious problems, when shutting it off doesn't work, you can do a soft reset. Hold down the power and home key for about 10 seconds, or until the Apple logo appears. Let go and wait for it to reboot. This will take a few minutes, so be patient.

Problem solved

Thanks for your good advice about a total shut down. This fixed the issue. I also appreciate it as a sort of maintenance tip. I forget that Apple products can fix themselves sometimes. I like this forum.

My calendar entries may disappear also, clicking on calendar icon, upper left, hide all, then show all works for me.

Yup, same behavior & solution works for mr ader. Likewise, I fine Calendar redisplays even if I simply shift a month and then return to current. Never happened before 5.0 :shrug:

I synced my iPhone to my iPad and new laptop and this iso5 kicked in.. I was using my calender as a type of diary and had logged all special days, events and dates.. After syncing, I only have the previous 6 weeks showing so have lost everything prior to the end of October.. I have tried the tips shown but cannot reinstate lost information.. I'm not very good with computers and stuff so would be very grateful for any help..
