I just purchased an IPad Air. getting used to the changes from a old laptop. Everything seems to be working out except emailing attachments.

I use hotmail as my email process. When I go to hotmail in Safari, try to attach a file to an email.... I get an error message that reads ... "We're still getting setup. Please try again"

HELP !!!!

thank you in advance for you wonderful forum...

You really can't attach files (that are on your iPad) to an e-mail that you've got running in Safari. The iPad is app-centric, not file centric - there is no central file system to go to so you can attach files.

There are some workarounds to this limitation:

(1) Use another browser that will allow you to save files within its "sandbox" so you can attach files. I've heard people have great success with "iCab Mobile" (you can try a free version to see if it'll help you)

(2) Load your Hotmail account onto/into the iPad's Mail app. This is done via Settings. The only limitations with this is that you can only attach photos or videos, not any other file types.

(3) Or, you can put the file into an online cloud storage such as Dropbox. Dropbox has a free app and you can upload files to it directly from the iPad or your PC. You can also save files to Dropbox. Then, when you want to mail an attachment, you actually create a link to the file in Dropbox and then mail the link. It's actually handier, in some ways, because you are not trying to e-mail what may be a large file. Of course, Dropbox is not the only online cloud storage you can use; it's just the one with which I am more familiar.

Again, the iPad is app-centric. So, each app has its own space and there is no real interaction between apps. Sending files can be done - but it takes a slightly different process than what you are used to with file-centric computers.
