Email help please

Hi everyone, I need some assistance. I had my ipad running perfectly with using my hotmail settings for the Mail app. However I added a VPN network, and since then I keep getting an error regarding my smtp.live.com setting. I have tried sending emails with the VPN on and off with the same results:

"The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.live.com" failed"

What did I do and how do I fix it.

Right now for my SMTP settings I have:

Host Name: smtp.live.com
Username: me (at) hotmail (dot) com
Password: **********
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 25

There are issues with live that need to be fixed by microsoft this may be one of them

Oh ok, that might explain it. I just found it strange that it only started after I set up my VPN.

Nah, it just started to ****ed up yesterday for no apparent reason. Probably Microsoft saying Apple product connecting to live we'll **** that up... Something like that !
