I did not see push Notification. In the email category it have email sounds and that is on

None of these FAQ point to email/notifications sound?

If you don't find anything there, I have no other idea where else you could search for email sound.
As AlexisW already asked: do you get sound with the built in app/when you play a song?

At this point I suggest that you contact the app developers.

The "free WeNotify app" is needed for the notifications, yet I cannot find it.

Let us now what the developers say.

WeNotify is an app for Mac and/or PC. Searching for it (Google, ...) should lead to the website or provide a link to App Store for Mac.
