Ad Blocker

I use Google Chrome as my iPad search Engine. When I click on the Chrome icon, I'm shown articles I might like. If I click on an article, it is so full of ads that I have a very hard time reading it. If I look for Chrome ad blockers for the iPad, the AI assistant that looks things up for you gave me not only possible ad blockers to try, but also gave me specific instructions of how to go about finding the apps and how to install them. My problem is that the information outlined is completely wrong! When I go to the site, it tells me the app is only for desktop computers. If I go to Chrome and turn on pop-up blockers, it doesn't work for my problem.
Are any of you using an ad block app that you are happy with? Yes, I'm a cheapskate and a freebie might be nice. Thanks.

Is using Google stuff that bad? Will Safari eliminate what Chrome is giving me? It’s Chrome suggesting articles but then filling the pages with ads.

Safari gives me the exact same thing that Yahoo does in that there is “stuff” taking up 1/3 of the screen on the left. I never found a way to get rid of it on Yahoo and I don’t see a way to get rid of it on Safari. I want a full screen and I get that using Google and Chrome.

There are several ad blockers for the iPad. They are not browser specific. I don't use one, but a simple search of the app store will turn up quite a few. I have heard some people use 1Blocker, but again, I have no personal experience.

There are a few browses that incorporate ad blocking. The only ones that comes to mind at the moment are Brave and Orion Browser. These browsers often have specialized/improved search and privacy features

I've been interested in Orion Browser by Kagi for a while, but haven't tried it yet. I keep hearing good things about it on podcasts I listen to; The Talk Show and MacGeekGab mostly. It's the improved search results that intrigue me. Not free, but it sounds so much better than Google's increasingly useless results.

Personally, when a site annoys me with too many or intrusive ads, I just find my info elsewhere. That mostly works. Even sites that have authors I usually like to follow.

Well, sometimes you can't, but those sites get the least amount of traffic I can manage.

Not to go off in a different direction, but have you guys noticed your iPads acting weird since the latest update? I've had weird things happen visually and just now, I was listening to a song and it wouldn't respond, at all, to hitting the pause button on the included player.
