Apple’s iPad 2 has recently received military grade protection via the Survivor case supplied by Griffin. The tablet is now capable to go to war, literally. The company has also developed a protection case for the iPhone prior to releasing the Survivor case for the iPad 2. The Survivor case is made of a hard shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame surrounded by a layer of silicone capable to absorb impacts. Thanks to this case, users can now drop, bang, knock the iPad 2 with force and the tablet will definitely survive the shocks.

Griffin’s case is so resistant that has been certified to meet the US Department of Defense Stand 810F. Despite the case, users can still access the multi-touch display, the headphone port, the camera, and the volume control buttons well as the hold switch. “This is the most robust case we have made for the iPad. Following the success of the Survivor for iPhone we are really pleased with the incredible standard of protection the Survivor for iPad offers,†stated Tony Johnson, Griffin’s Technology UK Manager.

The Griffin Survivor case for the iPad 2 is available for purchase for a price tag of Ă‚ÂŁ54.99. A multi-position stand is included in the price which lets customers use the tablet in many environments that could damage it.Could this new armor the iPad 2 now has make the tablet more popular in theatres of war? Perhaps more apps useful to soldiers will be developed and the iPad or the iPhone could become indispensable tools on the battle field.
