year 2, diagon alley help needed

This is my first post but I cannot find this anywhere online. I got out of birgan and burkes, (but couldn't access everything) but I cannot get out of the alley now. I've collected the potion ingredients and made it but it's got a red glow around it so I've not got the right character. There's a trunk I can't open either but I figured I needed to eventually come back for those things but I can't find my way out. Help! I've played the level about ten times because if I can't get out, I can't save.
