When I try to open iTunes on my pc, Window's "Data Execution Prevention" error message pops up and says, "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Name:iTunes Publisher:Apple.

It goes on to say that Data Execution Prevention helps protect against damage from viruses and other security threats. I tried uninstall/install for iTunes, but the error message still pops up and won't let me open iTunes.

Next I went to my iPad 2 and looked up the iTunes settings. It said iTunes is set to auto sync, but that the last sync was February 27, 2012!

I am not what you would call computer savvy, so if anyone can help me, please keep the instructions simple.

Help! Just about everything you need to do on the iPad is dependent on syncing with iTunes. How can I get Windows to stop blocking it?????

Check out this link Change Data Execution Prevention settings
Those instructions are for windows vista. However, they should be somewhat similar for windows 7. By following those instructions, you should be able to disable windows data execution prevention for user-specified program(s)-in this case, iTunes.
Hope this helps.
