Yeah I'm evaluating it right now.
So far so good but...

Cons:
1. Search results:
Only 4 results viewable at a time in a scrollable list. They're too large.
iOS Youtube presented them as a scrollable rows of 4*3=12 per page and a better size.

2. In full screen video mode:
Double-tab to zoom video does nothing compared to the iOs 5 version.

3. I've read other comments reporting cannot switch video resolution.
I haven't confirmed this yet.

4. I've read other comments reporting of adds being pre-pended to the start of videos.
The videos I've watched so far haven't shown this so I cannot confirm.

... et.al...

^_^

That's an informative and good review. At least though, There is a YouTube app available now for our members. Maybe in its next update it will improve on some of these things.

* An edit & re-post because iPF bugged out on me during last try grrr...

I'm evaluating it right now.
So far so good but...

Cons (compared to the iOs v5 version of Youtube that I still use now):

1. Search results:
Only 4 results viewable at a time in a scrollable list. They're too large!!!
In iOS v5 they were presented as scrollable rows of 4*3=12 per page and a better smaller size.

2. In full screen video mode:
* Double-tab to zoom video does nothing :-(
* The 'wide-screen' button is missing :-(
* No volume slider :-(

3. I've read other comments reporting cannot switch video resolution.
I haven't confirmed this yet.

4. I've read other comments reporting of adds being pre-pended to the start of videos.
The videos I've watched so far haven't shown this so I cannot confirm.

5. In windowed mode, the 'Add to favorites' button appears tiny and faint in the lower left!
....

All of the above points seem to be left off a hurried release of the new Youtube, so they'll HOPEFULLY be incorporated into an upgrade to at least the original standard if not better.

Also, the new YouTube app has no audio volume slider in fullscreen mode. I think I'll be sticking with McTube Pro, which was free a couple of days ago. It plays in the background, uses the 4x3 thumbnail display for searches, and easily saves videos for later viewing.
