Getting the albums I require on to the i-pad is causing a problem. The selected album will transfer from PC through i-Tunes and onto the i-Pad, but in doing so, it deletes earlier albums. What have I missed out please

Hi Alex - the iPad native Photo App is a PITA IMHO - so you may need to elaborate on your problem(s) - my initial question is whether you are trying to sync folders from your computer w/ the 'same' name, i.e. these will be replaced on the iPad - I'll stop there for the moment, but please better describe your issues more exactly - thanks. :)

HI giradman,

I'm following the instruction of opening i-Tunes on my Pc (Windows7 64bit), plug in my i-Pad and clicking on photos button to sync photos. I select the folder in my pictures folder on the PC. It all seems to work and the photos are transferred. However, earlier albums on the i-pad have been removed, leaving album just synced plus the album of camera roll only. The other albums have been removed. ?? The new albums being transferred have different names in each case.

iTunes is a finicky beast when it comes to photos. It will only transfer photos/albums that you have selected. I

f there are photos/albums on the iPad from an earlier transfer from iTunes - they will be deleted on another photo transfer if they are not also included in that transfer. So, you have to make sure that you've selected the photos in iTunes that are already on your iPad. Otherwise, iTunes will remove them in the new transfer.

Yeah, pretty ugly, but if they are not selected, iTunes assumes you don't want them so zap! They're gone.

Hope that clarifies.

Thanks Marilyn,

What a silly program. Apple should be ashamed of themselves producing such a poor quality photo application. Thought they knew what they were doing. ( My first experience with Apple) However, now I know what to do about it, I may be able to solve the problem by including folders ( say folders A, B & C) within the folder that I 'newly' want to transfer. That way I can at least have some control over what is where. As I add to the albums, I just need to add another folder to the first few I have linked together. Would that work?

Alternatively, is that a more professional photography App that I could use with my i-Pad, as photographs are an important part of my reason for getting the i-Pad in the first place.
