The iPad mini was barely launched a month ago, so one would assume Apple would relax in this department a little. Well, apparently, these thoughts couldn’t be farther from the truth, as new speculation arises regarding the next generation iPad mini. Apple usually updates its devices on a yearly schedule, but this year, however, it broke the pattern by issuing the iPad mini just months before it released the iPad 3.

Now, RBC Capital Market analyst Doug Freedman reveals the fact that the production of the iPad mini might have received a jolt. Freedman is currently in China where he is visiting chip companies. It is from here that he offered this mysterious and cryptic Apple note:

"iPad Mini Gen-2: Apple's gen-2 iPad mini is getting pulled-in, and is likely to have several new suppliers, with TXN gaining content."

It seems like the ambiguous term “pulled-in†seems to refer to Apple’s pushing forward the iPad mini’s launch schedule. TXN, however, refers to Texas Instruments, a company that was in charge of building iPad components at some point in time. The analyst might have tapped into some unknown sources that indicated to him the iPad mini could be on its way. However, no date was provided concerning the launch.

The only thing every rumor seems to agree upon is that the second generation iPad mini will most likely sport a Retina Display.
Freedman also commented on Samsung’s future Galaxy 4. According to him, the device will ship a month earlier if carriers want it at the end of March.
